Over the years, our Content team has developed a deep expertise in South Carolina’s academic standards, graduation requirements, and assessments. We’ve summarized the considerations that have guided our product development below.
South Carolina's SC College and Career Ready Standards (CCRS) were updated in 2021 and are closely aligned to Common Core for ELA and Math, NGSS for Science, and C3 for Social Studies, making Albert's content library a strong fit. The state's End-of-Course Examination Program (EOCEP) tests students in Algebra 1, Intermediate Algebra, Biology 1, English 2, and U.S. History, all required courses, and counts for 20% of final course grades, giving high-stakes weight to every performance.

Standards-aligned practice mirroring SC Ready rigor:
ELA & Math: Grades 3–8 (SC Ready).
Science: Grades 5, 8, and 11 (SCPASS).
EOCEP: End-of-Course Examination Program in Algebra 1, Intermediate Algebra, Biology 1, English 2, and U.S. History (counts 20% of final grade).
ACT®: 40% participation (class of 2022); state-funded.
SAT®: 51% participation (class of 2022).
WIN 'Ready to Work': Covers applied math, reading/writing, and data analysis (same content areas as ACT WorkKeys®).

South Carolina requires 24 credits for a high school diploma. The EOCEP gateway exams in Algebra 1, English 2, and Biology 1 count for 20% of students' final grades in those courses. South Carolina has an exit exam requirement tied to these EOCEP course grades.

EOCEP Prep: Targeted practice for Algebra 1, English 2, Biology 1, and U.S. History.
SC READY Alignment: Rigorous ELA and Math practice from Grade 3 onward to build the foundations needed for high school.
Graduation Mandates: Dedicated support for South Carolina’s Financial Literacy, Economics, and Computer Science requirements.

Students use Albert outside of class; the higher they score on each article or passage, the more points (of my own conversion) they score, and the accumulated score at the end of one 10-week quarter results in one grade. I choose a dozen or so passages that are only open for a month, after which the score is closed, and the grade is recorded.
I can depend on Albert's results for real progress monitoring. It is better than other resources.
Albert gives immediate feedback, and I feel that students will gain knowledge of content and will improve test-taking skills. I can assign this for outside of class time and discuss any challenges in class.
Not only does Albert provide proficient practice, but it also gives real-time data that they can see for themselves, thus increasing academic ownership.
Albert is being used in my math classroom as a tool to reinforce what we're learning through practice and review. Topics align with our lessons, and students complete questions to build their skills. Albert provides instant feedback, which helps them understand their mistakes and learn from them. It's also used to track progress and prepare for upcoming tests. The platform provides real-time insights into student performance, allowing me to identify which concepts individual students are struggling with and which areas the whole class may need to revisit.
As a new APUSH teacher I was unsure about my ability to prepare my students for the specifics of the AP® exam. My pass rate went from 44.7% to 64.2% and I had 12 students earn 5s. Albert may not be the only tool that led to our success, but it was definitely a game changer.

Students who independently prepared with Albert’s AP® Question Banks consistently outperformed national AP® averages in 2024 and 2025, driven by sustained, high-volume practice.

Schools using Albert for AP® practice achieved an 81.8% pass rate, outperforming the state average by 5.8 points and showing a strong correlation between usage duration and exam mastery.
