Over the years, our Content team has developed a deep expertise in Ohio’s academic standards, graduation requirements, and assessments. We’ve summarized the considerations that have guided our product development below.
Ohio uses the Ohio Learning Standards (OLS) for all core subjects. Math and ELA standards are CCSS-based with Ohio revisions; Science follows the Ohio Learning Standards for Science.
Ohio assesses students through Ohio State Tests (OST) in Grades 3–8 and high school End-of-Course tests. Students must earn a minimum of 18 points across 7 End-of-Course exams or meet alternative pathways for graduation. SAT® and ACT® are state-funded alternatives.

Standards-aligned practice mirroring Ohio State Test rigor:
ELA: Grades 3–8 (Ohio State Tests, OST).
Math: Grades 3–8 (Ohio State Tests, OST).
Science: Grades 5 and 8 (Ohio State Tests Science).
Social Studies: Grades 4 and 6 (Ohio State Tests Social Studies).
Ohio State Tests EOC: 7 required for graduation points.
SAT® or ACT®: State-funded alternative (district choice).
AP® & IB: Widely available.

Ohio requires 20 credits for graduation, including 4 ELA, 4 Math, 3 Science, 3 Social Studies, 1 PE/Health, 1 Fine Arts, and 5 Electives. Students must earn a minimum of 18 points across 7 End-of-Course exams or qualify through alternative pathways.

Rigorous practice across grades and subjects keeps fewer students from falling behind.
Elective credits: Civics, Financial Literacy, Health, and more.

As a new APUSH teacher I was unsure about my ability to prepare my students for the specifics of the AP® exam. I found Albert and decided to pilot the program at my school. My students answered over 51,000 questions in preparation for the exam. My pass rate went from 44.7% to 64.2% and I had 12 students earn 5s. My students scored above state and local averages in every single multiple choice category. Albert may not be the only tool that led to our success, but it was definitely a game changer.
I love using Albert.io to prepare my AP® Spanish Language and AP® Spanish Literature students for their respective exams. It has been a huge time saver, allowing me to spend more time preparing my lessons rather than creating assessments.
Albert is being used in my math classroom as a tool to reinforce what we’re learning through practice and review. The students are very engaged and receptive to the program as it provides immediate feedback.
From 9th grade Honors ELA students to 12th grade AP® Lit students, I have found something relevant and rigorous for all of my students. The passages and questions push my students to think critically and analytically.
I love using Albert in my classroom for a quick review of Chemistry topics and Science ACT® prep. The variety of question types and the detailed explanations are especially helpful for my students.
The program is very user-friendly, and the data it provides plays a major role in supporting the learning process. I have found that students are more motivated when they can see their own progress.

Students who independently prepared with Albert’s AP® Question Banks consistently outperformed national AP® averages in 2024 and 2025, driven by sustained, high-volume practice.
